Junior Lokosa has just one goal this season for Sporting Lagos in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

Sporting Lagos striker, Junior Lokosa, has recently shown his appreciation to an NPFL expert for drawing attention to his challenging statistics this season.

In a candid and short response to the analysis, Lokosa acknowledged his struggles through his social media account.

The NPFL veteran came across the facts regarding his form for Lagos-based newly promoted side, Sporting Lagos.

NPFL journalist known as Mike The Pundit took to the social media platform, X.com, to compare the performance of Lokosa to in-form Remo Stars forward, Sikiru Alimi.

Per his analysis, Remo’s decision to ditch Lokosa, who spent a season with the Sky Blues, for Super Eagles forward, Alimi, has proven to be shrewd.

“Coach Daniel Ogunmodede ensured to sanction the move of Sikiru Alimi following Junior Lokosa's transfer to Sporting Lagos after requesting what the coach termed as a “staggering salary” Sporting Lagos would go on to pay the salary and sign Lokosa with Remo Stars going for Alimi,” Mike posted on X.com.

Alimi returned to Remo Stars after leaving the club in 2021.

“Since then, Alimi, 5 goals in 4 games Lokosa, 1 goal in 6 games Remo Stars, bold step and key decisions made on Sikiru Alimi,” he added.

In sports where performance is closely scrutinised, the striker didn’t shy away from acknowledging his difficulties.

“Thanks for reminding me that i have 1 goal in 6games,” Lokosa replied via his official account.

His humility in recognising his challenges also resonated with fans and professionals alike.

Lokosa’s post highlighted the professionalism and sportsmanship of both individuals, with the forward showing a willingness to accept constructive criticism and use that as a driving force for improvement.

The former NPFL top scorer will get the chance to answer and show just that on the pitch when he faces another ex, Kano Pillars.

Pillars are visitors at the Onikan Stadium later on Monday as Lokosa and Sporting Lagos look to bounce back to winning ways after the defeat to Kwara United in Ilorin in midweek.
