Salah sinks Onuachu's Saints with penalty double to push Liverpool closer to EPL title

Liverpool opened a 16-point gap over Arsenal at the top of the Premier League thanks to a comeback win against bottom side Southampton at Anfield.

Southampton shocked the crowd at Anfield with a goal just before halftime. Will Smallbone scored after a mistake between Liverpool's goalkeeper Alisson and defender Virgil van Dijk.

Liverpool were jolted into action and began the second half in electric fashion, dominating and eventually leveling proceedings to delight the home support.

Darwin Nunez equalized in the 51st minute with a close-range shot, after nice work from Luis Diaz.

Just three minutes later, Nunez was fouled in the box by Smallbone, and Mohamed Salah scored a penalty to give Liverpool the lead.

Salah scored another penalty in the 87th minute, after a handball by Yukinari Sugawara, to seal Liverpool's win.
