The Kenyan midfielder was a 65th minute substitute as 10-man Aalborg thrashed Hillerod 3-0 in the Danish second division on Sunday.

Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada has expressed his excitement at recording a second straight win with his side Aalborg who beat Hillerod 3-0 in the Danish second division on Sunday.

Odada was a 65th minute substitute as Aalborg recorded the huge win despite playing the last 18 minutes with 10 men.

Aalborg took the lead after 23 minutes when Danish forward Oliver Ross broke the deadlock with the scores staying 1-0 in favour of the home side at halftime.

Ross went off in the 65th minute for Nicklas Helenius as coach Oscar Hiljemark made two changes, the other being Odada as a replacement for Malthe Hojholt.

The Kenyan played as one of the two holding midfielders for over 25 minutes, a period in which Aalborg had a man sent off and scored two more goals.

With his midfield partner Pedro Ferreira seeing red in the 72nd minute for a bad tackle, Aalborg scored the second goal eight minutes from time through a penalty converted by Danish forward Nicklas Helenius, before Melker Widell completed the rout three minutes later.

It is the second straight match that Odada has featured in since joining Aalborg on loan from US side Philadelphia Union two weeks ago.

He was an 80th minute substitute in Aalborg’s 2-1 victory against Hobro on Thursday, August 24 in what was his debut for the club.

Odada joined Aalborg on a one-year loan deal with the terms of the contract involving a purchase option at the end of the season.

The lanky midfielder had struggled for regular playing time in America after not being included in the club’s Major League Soccer (MLS) roster due to a limit on the number of foreigners allowed to play in the league.

The physically-imposing player primarily operates as a box-to-box midfielder but can also sit in front of the defence.
