The payment is meant for three international friendly matches played against West African rival Ghana, Jamaica, and Russia.
The Super Eagles faced Ghana in London, securing a 2-1 victory. They then drew 2-2 with Jamaica but won the Unity Cup via a penalty shootout.

Days after lifting the first trophy of Eric Chelle's tenure, the Super Eagles then came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Russia in Moscow on June 6, 2025.

BBC Journalist, Oluwashina Okeleji stated that Super Eagles players have not received their camp allowances or appearance bonuses for these high-profile encounters held in London and Moscow.
He said, “The #Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) didn’t pay the Super Eagles players camp allowance or appearance bonus for three friendly games vs #Ghana, Jamaica and Russia in London and Moscow.”
