REPORT: More heartache for Ramsdale as Arsenal choose to sign Raya on permanent deal
Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly decided to make the loan move for Spanish goalkeeper David Raya a permanent transfer at the end of the current campaign.
Raya set for permanent Arsenal deal
Raya joined the Gunners this summer on loan from Brentford, with a reported £27 million release clause in his contract, and Arsenal are believed to be on the verge of triggering it.
Raya has played his way into becoming Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper this season, and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has now revealed insider information about a potential permanent transfer for the Spain international.

According to Romano, Arsenal will sign Raya on a longer contract beyond the current one-year deal after not being able to complete the signing last summer to avoid issues with Financial Fair Play rules.
Ramsdale’s place in trouble with new Raya deal
The news will come as great news to Arsenal fans after Raya put in a number of impressive performances for the Gunners this season, ousting last season’s first-choice goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale.
The England international will be wary of Raya’s permanent signing after losing his place in the first team to the former Cornella and Blackburn goalkeeper.
England manager Gareth Southgate has threatened to stop extending call-ups to Ramsdale if he does not get more game time under his belt ahead of the 2024 Euros, and Raya’s permanent deal could force the former Sheffield United goalkeeper to seek new pastures outside the Emirates.
