Vinicius in trouble with FIFA
Gianluca Di Marzio via Abola reports that FIFA has opened an investigation into the 25-year-old player to ascertain if he breached regulations.
Vinícius is facing a formal complaint filed with the FIFA Ethics Committee by Brazilian company Tiberis Holding due to a possible conflict of interest, according to reports.
)
In February, it was also reported that Vinícius also bought Alverca, a Liga 2 club, for an estimated ten million euros.
Following this, a complaint was lodged by Tiberis, who claimed he was forced to sell a 16.5% stake in Athletic Club de São João del-Rei to the company of a forward player.
Tiberis claims that Article 22 of the Spanish FA's Code of Sports Justice and Article 20 of FIFA’s Code of Ethics were breached.
)
The regulations forbid active players from direct or indirect ownership of professional football clubs, even if there is only a potential conflict of interest.
If found guilty, Vinícius Júnior could be fined or suspended from all football activities for up to two years if FIFA decides to penalise him.
