According to reports, PSG manager Christophe Galtier is set to be fired by the club after only one season in charge.

The Frenchman joined the club in 2022, signing a two-year deal with Les Parisiens and won only the Ligue 1 trophy in his first year.

Galtier was unable to get PSG to a significant position in the Champions League as they crashed out to Bayern Munich in the round of 16, a tournament they have never won.

PSG are looking to let go of Galtier after just one season at the club and could bring in Jose Mourinho as a possible replacement according to reports.

Galtier could take charge of his final game today

According to a report from L'Equipe, Galtier will not be at PSG next season and will take charge of his last game against Clermont Foot.

Galtier's inability to advance through the Champions League's round of 16 is claimed to have prompted the owner of PSG to make the choice of letting him leave at the end of the season.

Galtier had a wonderful start in Paris with his team playing the first half of the season unbeaten as they entered the winter break.

The 56-year-old also led the team out of the group stage of the Champions League to face Bayern Munich but could not get past the round of 16.

Galtier's team tried everything possible to make sure they win a record-breaking eleventh title despite the league's poor recent performance.

Mourinho, possible replacement

Recent reports say PSG are looking to replace Galtier at the end of the season, with Mourinho the preferred candidate.

Last month, Sportsmail reported that the club was already scouting for prospective Galtier replacements, with Roma manager Jose Mourinho emerging as the front-runner.

The Roma manager has just a year left on his contract at the Stadio Olimpico and might opt for a new challenge.

Mourinho was a European trophy away from being the most decorated manager in Europe but lost to Sevilla in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
