Pochettino's first signing underway as Jackson passes Chelsea medical
Nicholas Jackson is on the verge of becoming Mauricio Pochettino’s first signing of the season after reportedly passing a medical, Goal quoting The Athletic.
The 22-year-old will be announced as Chelsea’s new entrant for a fee believed to be worth around £30m from La Liga side Villarreal.
Jackson’s season in brief
The Senegalese international enjoyed the 2022-23 campaign with the Yellow Submarines scoring 13 goals in 38 appearances.
The former Senegal U20 star will face competition in attack from French striker Christopher Nkunku who is expected to confirm his deal with the Blues soon.
Jackson’s arrival at Stamford Bridge would see Arsenal complete a summer move for Kai Havertz whose £65m deal is expected to be completed in the next few days.
Pochettino will have his hands full when the new season commences in August with the new crop of players at his disposal.
Chelsea finished in a disappointing 12th position in the Premier League and will not be playing continental football next season.
