The former Tottenham Hotspur manager is tipped to be appointed Blues’ manager and has already identified targets.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly singled out two Brentford stars he would sign if he is appointed Chelsea manager.

When he arrives, the Argentine is expected to overhaul the squad following a disappointing season that has already seen Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter sacked and Frank Lampard appointed on an interim basis.

An overhaul is inevitable at Stamford Bridge given the current bloated squad, and a new manager would also want to get players he trusts to help implement his philosophy and objectives.

Pochettino, who is viewed as the frontrunner to take charge at the London club, has already set his sights on Ivan Toney and goalkeeper David Raya.

The two Brentford stars have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge just after the Bees defeated the Blues in their last Premier League game.

Toney has enjoyed a superb season with Brentford so far and has scored 19 goals this season. He is only behind Erling Haaland of Manchester City, who has 33, and Harry Kane of Tottenham, who has found the back of the net 24 times.

The Blues are set to enter the transfer market and look for a dependable forward. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was signed but failed to impress, and the Gabonese is set to leave in the summer.

Overall, Chelsea’s attackers have struggled in front of goal, and this has majorly contributed to their general struggle in the campaign.

Raya has been earmarked as Edouard Mendy's replacement, who has fallen down the pecking order and is rumored to be on his way out. Kepa Arrizabalaga has also not convinced, as he has committed a number of mistakes.
