Odhiambo bemoaned the fact that fatigue crept onto most of his players and the squad players that came in were not able to maintain the intensity.

Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Patrick Luwowo Odhiambo has challenged his squad players to stand up and be counted in order to relieve the load on his regular starting 11.

Homeboyz lost 2-0 to KCB on Wednesday with the Bankers getting off to a flying start and claimed the lead inside the opening ten minutes with a high press allowing Hillary Otieno to latch onto a loose ball and tee up Hanif Wesonga, who volleyed home on his left foot for 1-0.

KCB doubled their lead in the 79th minute when substitute and birthday boy Francis Kahiro found himself in space inside the box at the far post and produced a clinical finish to make it 2-0.

Speaking after the match, Luwowo bemoaned the fact that fatigue crept onto most of his players, and the squad players that came in were not able to maintain the intensity that helped them get impressive results against Tusker and Gor Mahia.

“We played today (Wednesday) and we are playing another game on Saturday,” Odhiambo said. “We need fresh legs,” he added.

“There are thirty players in my squad. There are those who should help their players because when someone plays today and then plays the day after tomorrow, it is not good for the players.”

“We have lost and it is not a good picture. But look at our fixtures, really congested that we play today (Wednesday) and on Sunday which is very tiresome and unhealthy to our players,” Luwowo lamented.

The result now means KCB have soared up to fourth place after four league games on seven points.
