Egypt under-20 national team coach Mahmoud Gaber is talking tough ahead of clash with Nigeria

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been sounded a stern warning by Egyptian coach Mahmoud Gaber ahead of the Group A encounter between both teams.

Both teams failed to win in their first games as Nigeria lost 1-0 to Senegal while hosts Egypt were held to a goalless draw by Mozambique.

Egypt are heading into this game against Nigeria with a 'must-win' mentality according to head coach Gaber who warns Nigeria to be wary of the hosts.

“We are focusing now on Nigeria clash and will do better than against Mozambique,” Gaber said assuring of a positive result in Egypt's next game.

The 62-year-old understands the importance of winning the next game to put the Young Pharaohs in a position of strength going into the final group game against Senegal.

‘’Our target is to win tomorrow and we will do our best to achieve the target,” continued Gaber while laying down the gauntlet to Nigeria.

The Egyptian players are reeling from the disappointing result on the opening day against Mozambique in which they let down the home support.

“Players promised me to win against Nigeria and I am fully confident on my players,” Gaber said revealing the motivation behind his confidence.

The fate of Group A could be decided with this game as Senegal already have one foot in the next round, meaning the other qualification spot could be between Nigeria and Egypt.
