NPFL: Remo Stars youngster Odunsi celebrates first professional goal

The midfielder scored the second of four goals in his side's 4-0 over Kwara United in their final game of the 2023 regular season.

Following an impressive performance against Kwara United in their final game of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) regular season, Remo Stars youngster Oluwaseun Odunsi has expressed his delight over scoring his debut professional goal.

The midfielder scored the second of four goals, in his side's 4-0 over Kwara United in their final game of the 2023 regular season, helping them to a second-place finish in Group A, and qualification to the Super 6 playoff.

Youngster appreciates Remo Stars, Beyond Limits for debut goal

Reacting to accomplishment, Odunsi revealed he was excited to have opened his account, dedicating the moment to the club and Beyond Limit - the academy from which he was promoted.

“Super happy to have gotten my first professional/Npfl goal in front of our fans," Odunsi said on social media.

"I dedicate this goal to everyone at the club Remo Stars and the academy Beyond Limits FA. Looking forward to a good Super 6 outing,” he added.

With his goal as well as another from Andy Okpe, and a Phillip Odubia brace, Remo Stars scored four goals in an NPFL match for the second time in their history. It was also the 1st time they scored four first-half goals in the NPFL.

Odunsi to proceed to Super 6 with Remo Stars

Victory for Remo Stars meant their second-place finish on the 2023 NPFL Group A table was their highest final position in the Nigerian top-flight.

The Ikenne club following their finish will proceed to the Super 6 playoff in Lagos, to compete against Enyimba, Bendel Insurance, Sunshine Stars, Lobi Stars, and defending champions Rivers United for places in next season's CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

The Super 6 playoff will also see the best-performing team, crowned as Nigeria's new league champions.
