For the first time this season, a manager beyond Bendel Insurance's Monday Odigie was named as the NPFL Coach of the Month.

The duo of Enyimba forward Chukwuemeka Obioma and Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede, have both emerged as the winners of the League Bloggers Awards' Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Player and Coach of the Month, for March/April.

According to LBA, the two matchdays in March were considered alongside five in April.

Enyimba's Obioma clinches second award

To claim the Player Of The Month award, Obioma had scored four goals for Enyimba in seven matchdays, including in back-to-back games against Nasarawa United and Bendel Insurance.

The forward had also helped the 8-time Nigerian champions to a 1-0 win away at El Kanemi Warriors, a win that saw them maintain second place in Group A.

It becomes the second monthly hounour for the Enyimba forward after having earlier won the NPFL Player of the Month for February.

Ogunmodede ends Odigie's dominance

For the first time this season, a manager beyond Bendel Insurance's Monday Odigie was named as the NPFL Coach of the Month.

In the periods under review, Remo Stars' Ogunmodede had led his side to an unbeaten run, which included an away win at El-Kanemi Warriors, and had amassed 12 points to boost his team's chances of qualifying for the NPFL Super 6 playoffs in June.

In comparison to Remo Stars, Odigie's Bendel Insurance who remain the only unbeaten side in the NPFL this season, had garnered a total of 10 points in the months of March and April.

Other nominated managers were Enyimba's Finidi George and Doma United’s Akinade Onigbinde.
