Remo Stars by virtue of finishing second on the NPFL Group A table - their highest final position in the Nigerian top-flight, will participate in the 2023 Super 6 playoffs.

Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has stated that his team is ready to take to battle all opponents when the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super 6 playoffs kickoff.

Having finished in second place in Group A of the 2023 season, Remo Stars qualified for the championship playoffs alongside Group A winners Bendel Insurance, defending champions Rivers United, 1999 winners Lobi Stars, record Nigerian champions Enyimba, and Sunshine Stars.

Confident Ogunmodede positive about Remo Stars chances

Speaking ahead of the tournament slated to start on Saturday, June 3, Ogunmodede stated that his side cannot just be mere participants in the playoff.

Beyond the league title, qualification places in next season's CAF Champions League, and CAF Confederation Cup, await the second and third-best teams in the Super 6.

“We are going to Lagos to battle and strive to win the NPFL Super 6. We are ready for all the teams,” Ogunmodede said, according to Daily Post.

In earlier comments, the tactician used similar words, stating that his side was going to compete, and not only participate, "Just like we go to every competition to compete, but we also are not going for less."

NPFL Super 6 to hold in Lagos

The 10000-seater Mobolaji Johnson Arena in the Onikan part of Lagos is expected to play host to all 15 matches that feature the six participating teams.

For Remo Stars, the Super 6 playoff will also be an opportunity to feature in a continental game for a second time in their club's history.

Remo Stars had in the 2022/23 season represented Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup, but got knocked out after the first qualifying round following a 2-1 aggregate defeat to defending champions AS FAR.
