This weekend's roundup of Nigerian football stars performing across Europe’s top leagues highlights standout performances, key stats, and emerging narratives.

Nigeria and Super Eagles main man Victor Osimhen led Naija Stars Abroad at the weekend after he stole the spotlight in Turkey, scoring and assisting in Galatasaray’s dominant away win in the Super Lig. 

The 26-year-old Nigerian striker, often overlooked in the transfer market, now boasts 31 goals this season, including 22 in the Turkish top flight, cementing his place as one of Europe’s deadliest forwards.

In England’s League One, Arthur Okonkwo celebrated Wrexham’s historic back-to-back-to-back promotions, with his 18 clean sheets in 32 games proving pivotal. 

Meanwhile, in the Premier League, Alex Iwobi provided an assist and Calvin Bassey shone at centre-back for Fulham in their victory over Southampton, where Nigerian duo Joe Aribo (benched) and Paul Onuachu (injured) failed to make an impact.

Leicester City’s struggles continued with a 3-0 loss at Wolves, where Wilfred Ndidi played the full game but couldn’t prevent another defeat. 

Meanwhile, Taiwo Awoniyi came off the bench for Nottingham Forest in their FA Cup defeat to Manchester City, but Ola Aina missed out due to injury.

In the Bundesliga, Nathan Tella grabbed an assist in Bayer Leverkusen’s win over Frank Onyeka’s Augsburg, while Victor Boniface remained an unused substitute.

Cyriel Dessers found the net for Rangers, scoring his 13th Scottish Premiership goal in a draw against St Mirren.

In France, Jennifer Echegini continued her red-hot form for PSG, scoring in their away draw, while Moses Simon played over an hour for Nantes but couldn’t break the deadlock in a 0-0 stalemate against Toulouse.

In Italy, Ademola Lookman impressed for Atalanta despite failing to score in their 1-1 draw with Lecce, extending his goal drought.
