FC Barcelona’s preparations for their La Liga encounter against Real Betis have received a significant lift, with two influential midfielders returning to training ahead of the weekend fixture.

The Catalan side, confident after their impressive 3–1 victory over Atletico Madrid, aim to maintain their strong league position as they travel to the Estadio La Cartuja on Saturday.

Fermín López back earlier than expected

Fermín López rejoined the squad on Wednesday after recovering from a soleus injury sustained during the match against Athletic Club. Despite pushing through discomfort in the subsequent Champions League game against Chelsea, the injury ruled him out of Barcelona’s meetings with Alaves and Atletico Madrid.

The young midfielder completed part of today’s session with the main group, signalling a faster-than-expected recovery.

While López may feature against Betis, the coaching staff is reportedly targeting a full return next Tuesday when Barcelona face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

De Jong fully recovered and ready for Selection

Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong also returned to training after missing Barcelona’s last three matches for different reasons: suspension (Athletic Club), personal matters (Alaves), and illness (Atletico Madrid).

Fully recovered from fever, De Jong was among the earliest arrivals at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and is expected to be available for selection on Saturday.

His return brings stability to Xavi’s midfield options ahead of a potentially tricky away fixture.
