Premier League giants Manchester United must make a big sacrifice in order to make their dreams of signing Victor Osimhen come to pass
Manchester United want Victor Osimhen, but affording him is going to be difficult for the Red Devils after a disappointing campaign financially.
With the Napoli striker commanding a massive salary, up to €12 million, Manchester United will need to cash in on big-name stars to make it happen.
Manchester United to sacrifice for Osimhen deal
According to Foot Mercato journalist Sébastien Denis, Manchester United must generate serious cash if they want any shot at signing Osimhen.
)
This means the Red Devils potentially selling either Marcus Rashford or Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese captain, in particular, has emerged as a prime candidate for an exit, not just because of his market value, but due to serious interest from Saudi Arabia.
Al Hilal have reportedly offered Fernandes a life-changing £200 million package over three years, complete with bonuses and a mind-boggling £700,000-per-week salary tax-free.
)
Fernandes’ agent has already held in-person talks in Riyadh, and while no final decision has been made, Manchester United are now seriously entertaining the idea of cashing in.
Lack of funds threatens Osimhen’s Manchester United move
In the wake of United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, Fernandes even hinted at a possible goodbye, saying, "If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it's what it is."
)
Meanwhile, while United juggle exit strategies and salary calculations, Al Hilal have already agreed personal terms with Osimhen over a reportedly lucrative three-year contract worth €40 million annually.
Al Hilal are now preparing to enter direct talks with Napoli, aiming to wrap up a deal before the Club World Cup kicks off on June 15.

Realistically, unless United can pull off a massive player sale, Osimhen’s move to Old Trafford is fading fast.
