Inter will reportedly pursue Atletico Marid's Alvaro Morata if their move for Lukaku fails.

Inter Milan have reportedly identified Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata as an option to bolster their offensive options should they fail to land Romelu Lukaku.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly in negotiations with Chelsea for the Belgian striker and have already seen a loan offer rejected.

What happened

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Champions League finalists are prepared to make a move for the Spain international this summer window if their move for Lukaku fails.

Per the report, they have already had a €7 million loan fee for the striker rejected, as Chelsea are only interested in a permanent sale.

The Blues are said to be holding out for a €30-40 million transfer fee for the former Manchester United striker, who has already turned down a move to Saudi Arabia, prioritising remaining in the Italian capital.

Inter are expected to return with a loan offer for him, but this time with an obligation to buy him for around €30 million.

However, should this fail, they will reportedly turn their attention to Morata, whom they can prise away from Atletico Madrid for around €10 million. Inter's necessity to sign a striker intensified with the exit of Edin Dzeko, and they are expected to reinforce the position this summer.
