Karim Benzema has aired his views on the golden boot race with Ronaldo

Karim Benzema scored the winning goal as Al Ittihad secured a 3-2 victory over Al Ettifaq, moving six points clear of nearest rivals Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. With 68 points from 29 games, Al Ittihad are on the brink of clinching the title.

The win keeps Benzema's team in prime position to claim the trophy, and the French striker emphasized the importance of the title over individual accolades.

Reacting after the game, the former Real Madrid star refused to be drawn into for the top scorer race.

Benzema said, “I don’t care about this, my friend. The most important thing is the (SPL) trophy."

Benzema currently sits fourth in the top scorer standings with 18 goals, behind Cristiano Ronaldo (23 goals), Ivan Toney (19 goals), and Abderrazak Hamdallah (19 goals).

The top scorer race will heat up further when Al Ittihad faces Ronaldo's Al Nassr on May 7 in a crucial league match.
