Cristiano Ronaldo was on the pitch for 90 minutes, but it was Aleksandar Mitrovic-led Al Hilal who stole the show in the Riyadh derby.

Al Hilal showed why they are at the top of the standings in the Saudi Pro League after a dominant and convincing display against Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr.

An inspirational performance from Mitrovic propelled the league leaders to a comfortable 3-0 victory against Al Nassr to extend their lead at the top of the table on Friday night.

Al Hilal vs Al Nassr: Mitrovic outshines Ronaldo

In what was the biggest match of the weekend, a top-of-the-table clash in the Saudi Pro League, it was leaders Al Hilal who sealed the crucial win and all three points following a late show.

Former Fulham star, Mitrovic, emerged the star of the game after he scored two of the goals for the hosts.

After a goalless first half, it was Hilal who found the breakthrough after the hour mark when Sergej Milinkovic Savic fired the hosts in front.

Al Nassr thought they had scored when Ronaldo pulled one back, but the VAR had other ideas as his effort was ruled out for an offside.

Hilal capitalised on that to make the game save when Mitrovic doubled the advantage with just a minute to play before making it 3-0 in added time to wrap up the win.

There was still time for one last drama as Al Hilal were reduced to 10 men moments later after Ali Al Bulayhi was red-carded for violent conduct.
