The former Napoli forward criticised Nigeria's Victor Osimhen for disrespecting the club

Victor Osimhen’s successful spell at Napoli may have earned him trophies and a superstar status in Nigeria and Turkey, but not everyone in Italy is convinced.

Former Napoli striker Antonio Floro Flores has labelled the Super Eagles star “mediocre,” claiming he only had one good season and owes everything to the club.

In a heated interview with Kiss Kiss Napoli, Antonio Floro Flores made no effort to mask his irritation at Osimhen’s actions and attitude toward his exit from Napoli.

Kevin de Bruyne has left Manchester City for Napoli

The 42-year-old, who previously played for Napoli and Udinese compared Osimhen unfavourably with Kevin De Bruyne, who recently signed with Napoli after snubbing big-money offers from Saudi Arabia.

“We didn’t discover hot water in De Bruyne,” he said, adding, “He could have gone to Saudi Arabia to take in lots of money, but instead, he chose Italy because he's still hungry, still stiumalted.

“He can bring a lot of experience to Napoli as a football club. He is an ambitious guy as Conte is,” the former Genoa forward added.

On Osimhen, Flores was brutal, saying, “Osimhen? He has to go to Saudi Arabia. I'm tired of talking about him. I get annoyed talking about a mediocre footballer. He only did well for one year

“We're talking about a character that bothers me. A man that leaves a city that made him what he his. Not even his mother knew him, and yet, he allowed himself to remove the Napoli shirts from his Instagram profile.

“If I was his agent, I'd take him to Saudi Arabia. I don't think he knows this, but he's not a champion.”

While Flores continues to discredit Osimhen, the forward’s performances are speaking louder. After leaving Napoli for Galatasaray on loan last season, Osimhen dominated Turkish football, scoring 37 goals, winning the league title, the Turkish Cup, and securing the Golden Boot.

Galatasaray want to keep him, but his wages are proving difficult. Meanwhile, Saudi giants Al-Hilal are preparing an improved package to lure him, even after he rejected them twice.
