Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino ends the online debate over the intent behind Mykhailo Mudryk's goal against Arsenal.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has attested that Ukrainian forward Mhykaylo Mudryk had intent for his ridiculous strike that ended up as a goal for Chelsea against Arsenal.

The 21-year-old striker, with his left foot from the right flank, caught David Raya out of his goal and doubled Chelsea's lead on the day.

The angle of the strike, however, generated doubt over the intent of the attempt, with many believing Mudryk intended to deliver a cross to the back post for Raheem Sterling, but Chelsea’s Argentine boss, Pochettino, dismisses the notion.

What Pochettino said

The former Espanyol boss was delighted for the young winger, as the stunner was his first goal at Stamford Bridge. He also went on to establish that the shot was made on purpose.

"Yes, [he meant it]. To be honest, he tried. It doesn't mean that only he deserves the credit but he knew the position of the keeper and that it was possible to score from that position,” he said, per the BBC.

He needed his first goal at Stamford Bridge. He still needs to improve but with this goal, I think he is going to be more confident in the future."

Meanwhile, the scorer of Chelsea’s opener of the day, Cole Palmer, has settled the GOAT debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
