Chelsea fans set to honour Eden Hazard with a big flag following his retirement
Hazard recently announced his retirement from football after struggling with injury in the later stage of his career.
On Saturday night, the Blues will host Mikel Arteta's team Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in a London derby clash.
Supporters will fly a large flag in honour of Hazard before the game in recognition of his retirement.
Chelsea fans to honour Hazard
Last week, the 32-year-old Belgian declared he was hanging up his boots according to reports from the Sun.
Since then, Chelsea fans have built and paid for a crowd-surfing banner as they look to honour the Belgian.
On Saturday, it will be unfurled five minutes before kickoff to allow for a minute of silence for those who have died in the Israel-Palestine war.
After joining Madrid from Chelsea in 2019, the forward underwent four years of injury-ravaged play.
The Spanish giants ended his time with the team in the summer by voiding his contract a year early.
However, Real Madrid have erased all references to Hazard's £100 million record signing to the club.
Nonetheless, Hazard's illustrious seven-year tenure with Chelsea ensures that he is still revered throughout West London.
He made 352 appearances during that time, scoring 110 goals, and he also captured six significant trophies, including two Premier League titles and two Europa League crowns.
