Despite approaching what many would consider the twilight of a record-shattering career, Messi shows no signs of slowing down, remaining the reigning MLS MVP and widely expected to grace the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

What Messi said

When asked by DSPORTS about his current contribution, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, articulated a clear philosophy.

He said, "Trying to be there, always supporting the group, giving my all. Always happy to play, to be able to enjoy this, which is what I love, and always trying to help the team."

Reflecting on Inter Miami's efforts at the global gathering in the United States, Messi expressed satisfaction.

He added, “I think we lived up to expectations. We gave our all and that should help us to achieve what’s truly important, which is what’s coming up. I’m very happy to have been able to compete at this Club World Cup, to have been able to compete even though we’re in a different league and at a different level."

Inter Miami is set to resume league action this Saturday, traveling to Montreal, with Messi and his teammates aiming to secure their first-ever MLS Cup glory in the club’s short history.
