Inter Milan fans send a clear message to the club after their abysmal Champions League final defeat to PSG in Lisbon.

Displaying their disappointment and annoyances, Inter fans refused to welcome their team back to Italy after the historically bad UCL final outing against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Nerazurri lost their second UCL final in four years, both times to debutant winners. While they put up a brave fight against Manchester City in Istanbul, suffering a slim 1-0 defeat, they were dismal in the latest against Paris Saint-Germain, beaten 5-0 by the newly-minted champions.

As revealed by Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, only one fan, named Marco, was available to welcome the Inter team contingent at the airport.

After the soulless performance and devastating defeat in Lisbon on Saturday, the Nerazurri team returned home on Sunday via the Milan Malpensa airport.

Typically, they are welcomed by a host of fans at the tarmac, however, yesterday, only a single fan was around. He was reportedly heard to have yelled, “I’m the only idiot here, but they still deserve applause.”

Their journey to the city was devoid of an entourage of fans, with only police escort and airport staff trailing the team. While some other fans joined along the way, they were only a handful. The Inter players were also muted, with the report revealing that none of them spoke.

Meanwhile, the reverse was the case in Paris, with the streets of the City of Love packed to its ends. The celebrations spilled into pockets of violence, with Pulse Sports reporting two confirmed deaths, and 559 arrests so far.
