Enugu Rangers will unveil CEO Amobi Ezeaku as a new player in the NPFL and he will wear number 11.

Enugu Rangers FC CEO Amobi Ezeaku is poised to make a landmark appearance for the club when they face Niger Tornadoes in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

Amobi to make Rangers debut

Ezeaku, a former goalkeeper and accomplished administrator, has been named in Rangers' matchday squad for the Week 23 clash per a report from the club media.

It will mark the first time the Rangers CEO features in the NPFL while continuing to carry out his off-field duties.

Ezeaku has previously scored in a friendly match for Rangers, heading home an impressive goal that convinced manager Fidelis Ilechukwu to give him a chance in competitive action.

The CEO earned UEFA and FIFA qualifications in recent years and has overseen a major turnaround at Rangers since taking over last year.

His playing cameo will see Ezeaku follow in the footsteps of Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, who briefly turned out for Bendel Insurance in the NPF.

But Ezeaku is set to become the first active club administrator to combine boardroom responsibilities with playing in Nigeria's top division.

And the multi-talented CEO will now try to make an impact on the field for the 'Flying Antelopes' when they travel to Kaduna to face Tornadoes.
