DR Congo native Kompany's unique plans at Bayern to dethrone Victor Boniface's Invincibles
In his first weeks as Bayern Munich's new head coach, Vincent Kompany seems to have introduced a series of innovative changes to the team's training regimen in the bid to dethrone Victor Boniface and his Bayer Leverkusen teammates.
Pulse Sports reports that these unique changes have signalled a positive shift in approach for the dethroned Bundesliga champions.
Kompany and Bayern Munich
According to a post on X.com, formerly Twitter, Kompany has implemented the use of music during warm-ups, a move designed to energise players during what is often seen as a mundane part of training.
Athletic coach Bram Geers has complemented this by introducing game-based warm-up exercises, increasing the team's time with the ball.
Tactical focus has been placed on improving build-up play under pressure and transition play, addressing weaknesses identified from the previous season.
"Bayern had problems against opponents who pressed them hard," the report revealed. "Kompany is working to rectify this."
The Belgian-born DR Congo native's meticulous attention to detail has not gone unnoticed.
Observers note his active involvement in nearly every exercise, with frequent interruptions to correct even minor mistakes.
This hands-on approach is reminiscent of Kompany's former mentor, Pep Guardiola, who has led his former club Manchester City to an unprecedented fourth successive PL win.
Despite leading the Bundesliga in expected goals last season, finishing efficiency was highlighted as an area for improvement for the Bavarians and their new boss.
Consequently, Kompany is said to have dedicated significant time to finishing drills in his early sessions.
In a departure from his predecessor's style, former Chelsea and PSG boss, Thomas Tuchel, who turned down the chance to stay at the club, Kompany has been spending considerable time in dialogue with players, including youth team members currently training with the first team.
He and his coaching staff are also encouraging increased on-field communication among players.
"The coaches want to see and hear communication from the players themselves," the post added.

As Bayern Munich prepares for the upcoming season, it's clear that Kompany's arrival has brought a fresh energy and focus to the training ground.
The team's response to these new methods will be closely watched as the season approaches.
