The Blues offered an apology following the chants heard during their home game.
Both Chelsea and Liverpool have condemned chants about Hillsborough Stadium heard during their Premier League clash on Tuesday.
The chants came as the Blues and the Reds battled – and shared points from the 0-0 draw – in the midweek clash.
While Liverpool called for an end to such chants, Chelsea said such chants have no place in football.
The 1989 FA Cup semifinal at Hillsborough Stadium was the scene of Britain's worst sporting disaster when 97 Liverpool fans died after a crash in an overcrowded and fenced-in enclosure.

The Reds will host the high-flying Gunners at Anfield for their next match.
"Chelsea FC condemn the inappropriate chants heard from some home fans during this evening’s game. Hateful chanting has no place in football and we apologise to anyone who has been offended by them," read a statement from the London club.
This incident followed reports of similar chants during Liverpool’s previous game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
"Manchester City FC are disappointed to have heard inappropriate chants from home fans during today's game," the Citizens condemned the incident then after beating the Reds 4-1.
"We regret any offence these chants may have caused and will continue to work with supporter groups and officials from both clubs to eradicate hateful chanting from this fixture."
Liverpool will be at home for their next match against Arsenal.
