Victor Osimhen: Where does Super Eagles star rank in top 10 best jumps in football?

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has joined an elite company that includes Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic because of his aerial prowess.

Last weekend, Victor Osimhen produced a jump that NBA players would have been proud of, when he rose highest to draw Napoli level against Monza.

Osimhen’s oustanding header against Monza wasn’t the first time the Super Eagles striker would display his aerial abilities.

Last season, the former Lille man broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s jump record of 2.56m when he leaped 2.58m in a 3-0 win against Spezia.

However, some other players in Europe have also shown their capablities when it comes to jump power. So where does Victor Osimhen rank in the top 10 highest headed goals?     

Ranking the top 10 best football jumps of all-time

Osimhen’s heroic 2.58m jump last season places him fifth on the list of highest jumps in football. 

The award for the best Serie A jump belongs to AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori who rose 2.61metres to score in May 2021 in a game against Juventus.

However, when it comes to jump power, no other players does it better that Cristiano Ronaldo. The former Manchester United forward appears 5 times on the list of top ten highest headed goals. 

One header that was widely cheered in the whole of Africa, was when Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri climbed 2.78metres to put Morrocco in front against Portugal in December 2022. 

It was a very significant goal as it ensured the Atlas Lions became the first African team to play at the Semi-final of a FIFA World Cup.
