CAF Champions League: Benin City to host WAFU B as Delta Queens know foes on July 3

Ampem Darkoa Ladies of Ghana, champions of the 20232/23 Malta Guinness Women's Premier League, would be Delta Queens' primary rivals in the WAFU B play-off.

Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo state will host the West African Football Union (WAFU) B leg of the CAF Champions League play-off.

The WAFU B will serve as qualifiers for CAF Women's Champions League for Women's League champions across West African countries.

Pulse Sports reported that Delta Queens won the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership title for the first time in 11 years.

Bayelsa Queens were defeated by a 2-1 comeback victory, and Mercy Omokwo finished the year as the leading goal scorer with nine goals.

Delta Queens defeated the defending champions at the final of the NWFL premiership Super six final at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Delta Queens will be looking forward to advance to the 2023 CAF Women's Champions League.

Delta Queens to know foes on July 3

The African football governing body confirmed that Nigerian champions, Delta Queens, will know their opponents in WAFU B on July 3.

The draw for the WAFU B play-off will hold in Abuja on July 3 with the teams grouped into two zones.

The draw ceremony will start at 11 a.m., according to a communication from the sub-continental football governing body to all general secretaries under WAFU B.

Delta Queens defeat Bayelsa Queens

Last week, Delta Queens defeated Bayelsa Queens, who had previously represented Nigeria in the competition, by winning the Super Six play-off of the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL).

Last year, the Bayelsa Queens won the contest held in Ghana and went on to take home the bronze medal at the bigger continental championship held in Morocco.
