Phillipe Coutinho is reportedly subject to interest by a Saudi based club.

Phillippe Coutinho has garnered strong interest from a club in the Saudi Arabian Professional League, according to reports.

The 30-year-old has been used sparingly by Aston Villa this season, and his immediate future could be in the Middle East, with a club in the SPFL said to be looking to prise him away.

Football Insider reports that Brazil international Coutinho is subject to genuine interest by an unnamed Saudi Arabia club.

The reports reveal that his suitor is an affluent one, and they are said to be preparing a mega offer to lure the former Liverpool midfielder away from European football.

Aston Villa are expected to be open to letting Coutinho go as he is their top earner and has been limited to a supporting star role.

The midfielder only recently joined Villa last season after making an initial loan from Barcelona permanent, and he still has a contract with the club until 2026, but the Villians will understandably be willing to let him go for a relatively low transfer fee to get his huge salary off their wage bill.

The ex-Liverpool star has only made seven Premier League starts this season, scoring once, and is currently sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

The Midlands club will reportedly be open to cutting their losses when the reported Saudi suitors come around, and that could put an end to Coutinho's time in European football.
