Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre stole the spotlight in the Jeddah derby between Al-Ittihad and Al Ahly.

Nigeria Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has reacted to her impressive performance for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad

Plumptre has taken to social media to express gratitude after she netted a hat-trick to inspire Ittihad to a convincing 6-2 victory against Al Ahly in the Jeddah Derby.

The 25-year-old took to Twitter to react to her first-ever Jeddah derby for the club and scored her second hattrick. 

"A blessing to experience every moment with this team,” Plumptre posted on X.com.

The tweet from the 2023 FIFAWWC star also featured photos of her and her teammates celebrating at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.

Plumptre’s goals were all scored in a blistering first-half display from the Saudi Arabian giants.

Her tweet also included an appreciation for the fans of Ittihad for their support.

“Enjoyed my first derby match with this group and grateful for the hat-trick in front of our incredible fans," added.

Meanwhile, reactions to Plumptre’s tweet included congratulations and praise for another solid outing for her new club in the Saudi Women’s Professional League. 

“Congratulations that's excellent of you scoring hat-trick as a defender,” one of the comments said.  “Keep up the good Job. We Nigerians love you.”

“Congratulations dear. I pray you to continue to be fit and be able to represent us in the coming international duties we've missed you,” another added. 

The Falcon has now scored six goals this season for Ittihad since she made the switch from Women’s Super League, WSL, side, Leicester City.
