Barcelona extended their LALIGA lead to four points with a comfortable victory against Mallorca.
Lamine Yamal continued his incredible vein of form as he scored in Barcelona's 3-0 rout of Mallorca in the LALIGA clash at Camp Nou.
The Blaugrana returned to league action after midweek's triumph over Albacete, which helped them reach the semi-final of the Copa del Rey.
Despite the midweek activity, they did not show any form of fatigue, as goals from Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Marc Bernal helped clinch a comfortable victory, which extended their LALIGA lead to four points, albeit before Real Madrid's fixture against Valencia at Mestalla.
Key match details
The Catalans took time to impose themselves but gradually grew into the game through patient build-up play and a high press that frustrated Mallorca’s attempts to escape their own half.
Barcelona finally broke the deadlock in the 29th minute when Robert Lewandowski finished from close range following sustained pressure and a well-worked sequence inside the box, giving the hosts a deserved advantage.
The second half saw Barcelona step up their tempo and turn the contest into a one-sided affair. In the 61st minute, Lamine Yamal doubled the lead with an eye-catching strike, receiving the ball outside the box, driving at the Mallorca defence and curling a precise effort beyond the goalkeeper into the right corner.
With momentum firmly in their favour, Barcelona continued to dominate possession and create chances. In the 83rd minute, Marc Bernal capped the scoring with a composed finish after a quick transition, slotting the ball low past the keeper to make it 3–0 and seal all three points.
