Arsenal have secured historic financial reward by reaching the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2014.

The UEFA Champions League is the most lucrative club football competition in the world, and going deep in the competition can provide financial windfall for the participants.

In this case, Arsenal have enjoyed a massive financial boost by defeating FC Porto 4-2 on penalties to reach their first quarter-final in 10 years.

The Gunners were down 1-0 from the first leg but found a leveler through Leandro Trossard before going on to extra-time and penalties.

According to marketing and sports business expert Lukasz Baczek, the Gunners will make around €91.28m (₦157B) in prize money for their progress.

Arsenal's earnings include starting fees of €15.64 million, €25.01 million based on their UEFA Coefficient 10-year ranking, €18.3 million from the market pool, €12.13 million for their performance in the group stage (4 wins and 1 draw), and €9.6 million for reaching the Last 16.

Finally, Mikel Arteta's men earned €10.6 million for advancing to the quarterfinals.
