Riccardo Calafiori has caught the eye of Mikel Arteta who is looking to add more defensive personnel to his side.
The defender has had an excellent performance in the ongoing 2024 European tournament despite Italy being eliminated in the round of 16.
According to reports, the Bologna centre defender Calafiori is reportedly giving the Gunners priority over other teams.
Calafiori to Arsenal
Arsenal are making a move to seal the deal for Bologna defender Calafiori and are in an advanced stage of negotiation.
According to EuroFoot on X, “Riccardo Calafiori (22) and Arsenal are getting closer and closer! 🔴✨

Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Napoli are among the teams that have expressed interest in signing Calafiori; however, Bologna has long chosen not to sell to a Serie A rival.
Arsenal is likely to submit an official proposal shortly after moving forward with negotiations with Calafiori to reach a personal terms agreement on a long-term deal that would last until 2028–2029.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, who are reportedly lagging behind Arsenal, are still very interested in Calafiori and may attempt to join the conversation shortly.
