Kenyan forward Vincent Oburu's trial with AmaZulu FC ends without a contract offer, raising questions about his future in football.

South Africa Premier Soccer League side AmaZulu FC have concluded their assessment of Kenyan forward Vincent Oburu, who recently underwent a trial period with the Durban-based club.

Fans had been eagerly anticipating a direct signing, but the DStv Premiership outfit opted for a cautious approach to thoroughly evaluate Oburu's abilities and compatibility with the team.

AmaZulu FC, currently positioned in eighth place in the league standings, made it clear that they were taking their time to assess the player before making any decisions.

According to a source in Zambia, where Oburu currently plays for Zesco United in the Super League, the player did not meet the expectations set by the AmaZulu coaching staff.

"He didn’t make the cut at AmaZulu. He left after a few days. It looks like the coaches were not impressed,” a source was quoted by South African publication FarPost.

Vincent Oburu, a 25-year-old forward, is reportedly back in Zambia after his trial period with AmaZulu. Despite seeking a move away from Zesco United, his time with the South African club did not result in a successful stint.

Oburu's football journey has been noteworthy, with his initial breakthrough occurring when he joined Zesco United on a six-month loan deal. His impressive performances during the loan spell led to a permanent three-year contract in June 2022.

A significant highlight in Oburu's career is his participation as a full Kenya international. He played a crucial role in the Harambee Stars team that clinched the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup title, showcasing his talent on the international stage.

AmaZulu FC's decision not to sign Oburu comes at a time when the club is striving for success in the DStv Premiership.

Currently sitting in the eighth position, the team has accumulated ten points from their first eight matches of the season.

As Vincent Oburu returns to Zambia, the forward faces the challenge of securing a move away from Zesco United to continue his professional career.
