Alex Iwobi set new Nigerian Premier League record in City's defeat
Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi has recorded his name in the history books by becoming the first Nigerian player to feature in all 38 games of a Premier League season twice.
Iwobi completed the feat for the second time in the 2024/25 Premier League season, having previously done so in 2022/23, joining an elite list of Nigerian internationals who have achieved the milestone.
The exclusive club of Nigerians with perfect Premier League seasons with Super Eagles legend Joseph Yobo in 2006/07 with Everton, Victor Moses in 2011/12 with Wigan Athletic and Wilfred Ndidi in 2018/19 with Leicester City.
Only four Nigerian players have appeared in all 38 games of a Premier League season.

Iwobi featured for Fulham when they wrapped up their Premier League campaign in style with a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at Craven Cottage.
Goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland were enough to see off Marco Silva’s men, in a match where Pep Guardiola’s side looked dominant from start to finish.
The 28-year-old midfielder enjoyed a strong campaign for Fulham this season, proving instrumental in midfield under Marco Silva’s system.
The Super Eagles star recorded nine goals and six assists for the Cottagers.
