Twelve-time league champions AFC Leopards have shifted venue to face Nairobi City Stars in a crucial league match as they chase victory.

Twelve-time Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions AFC Leopards find themselves in unfamiliar territory as they prepare to host their next league match at Bukhungu Stadium.

The tie against Nairobi City Stars is scheduled for January 21st, and this alternative venue comes as a result of the unavailability of their usual home ground, Nyayo National Stadium.

Interestingly, Bukhungu Stadium also serves as the home venue for their rivals, Kakamega Homeboyz, adding an extra layer of intrigue to this upcoming clash.

"We host Nairobi City Stars this Sunday at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega," the club announced.

At the start of the season, Bukhungu Stadium was confirmed by AFC Leopards' Chairman, Dan Shikanda, who emphasized that the Western-Kenya based facility is their second home.

"I can confirm we have registered Bukhungu as our preferred alternative venue" he said.

AFC Leopards will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to three matches as they prepare to take on Nairobi City Stars.

In their last outing, Leopards secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Muhoroni FC, showcasing their determination to climb up the league standings.

Currently positioned 12th on the league table, they have amassed 21 points from 18 matches played during this season.

On the other side of the pitch, Nairobi City Stars find themselves in a more promising position, with 33 points to their name, albeit seven points behind the league leaders, Gor Mahia.

Tusker FC closely follows them, trailing by just two points. Nairobi City Stars head into this match with confidence after securing a 1-0 victory over Posta Rangers in their last outing.
