Ingwe faces an urgent crisis with declining gate collections, a winless streak, and a desperate plea to fans for support.

Twelve-storied Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions, AFC Leopards, are facing an uphill battle early in the 2023/24 season as they grapple with a sharp decrease in gate collections.

The club, led by Chairman Dan Skinada and its national executive committee, has issued a heartfelt plea to its dedicated fanbase for support in mobilization efforts to reverse this concerning trend.

In their recent clash against Muhoroni FC at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani, AFC Leopards saw a staggering decline in attendance, with only 1,028 fans in the stands.

This disappointing turnout followed a series of less-than-stellar performances on the field, including a goalless draw in their previous match against FC Talanta and a 1-0 loss to KCB just before the international break.

Out of the 1,028 attendees, a mere 41 opted for VIP tickets, priced at Ksh500 each, while 987 chose the regular tickets at Ksh200 each, amounting to a total gate revenue of Ksh217,900 for the day.

In a statement issued by the club's leadership, they expressed their deep commitment to meeting the club's operational needs and ensuring its continued success on the field.

"The management is reaching out to our dedicated members for support in mobilizing financial resources,”reads part of the statement.

As part of their commitment to transparency and sustainability, Ingwe’s management has introduced a referral commission program for successful sponsor or grant references, aligning with the club's financial policy and industry best practices.

"The club deeply appreciates the unwavering support of its members and encourages everyone to play a vital role in securing the club's future success," the statement continued.

"Together, we can achieve great heights and continue to represent the spirit of AFC Leopards on and off the pitch."

This decline in gate revenues has highlighted a growing concern among fans who appear to have lost confidence in the technical bench led by Tom Juma.

The pressure on Juma and his fellow members of the technical bench has intensified as AFC Leopards endure a dismal start to the 2023/24 season.

However, on Wednesday, the club hierarchy declared their support for the coach despite the backlash.

After three matches, the club has not secured a single win or scored a goal, leaving fans increasingly disheartened as their team falls further behind in the title race with each passing matchday.
