3x EPL Golden Boot winner backs Diaz to shine at Bayern after switch from Liverpool

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane showered new signing Luis Diaz with praise after the Colombia international shone in their pre-season friendly 2-1 victory over French outfit Lyon. 

As Pulse Sports reported, Bayern Munich edged out Olympique Lyon 2-1 in a friendly at the Allianz Arena, and new signing Luis Diaz started on the bench but was brought on by Vincent Kompany at half-time, immediately impressing the Bavarian faithful.

Diaz was involved in all of Bayern's dangerous attacks when he came on, and their sustained pressure eventually paid off. In the 53rd minute, Kompany's side were awarded a penalty, which Michael Olise confidently converted.

Olise doubled the lead seven minutes later. Diaz then had another chance to score in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper intervened. Two minutes later, Diaz's superb dribbling skills set up Gnabry, who squandered a golden opportunity to make it 3-0.

Diaz seemed to have absorbed Kompany's teachings with his excellent performance against Lyon. Kane praised his performance and expects him to settle nicely at the club. 

"Díaz did a great job today. We've only had a couple of training sessions together so far, but he seems hungry and lively,” he said, per GOAL.

“You can tell he's happy to be here. He's playing with a smile on his face. Today you could see how effective he is in the final third, and we'll need him this season – so I'm delighted he's here.

“English is not too bad. He communicates well with the team. Hopefully his English and maybe his German as well picks up so some of the other players can talk to him as well. But with the coach talking English I don't think he has a problem"

The Bundesliga champions Bayern acquired Diaz this summer from Premier League champions Liverpool for a fee of €75 million.
