Brazil has unveiled host cities and stadiums for the 2027 Women's World Cup

FIFA has officially announced the eight vibrant cities and their iconic stadiums across Brazil that will play host to the expanded 32-team FIFA Women's World Cup in 2027.

The announcement, made on Wednesday, marks a step in preparations for the tournament, which will be the first Women's World Cup held in South America.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) had initially nominated twelve cities, with FIFA ultimately selecting eight based on their existing infrastructure and facilities, all of which previously hosted matches during the 2014 FIFA Men's World Cup.

The chosen host cities and their respective stadiums are: Belo Horizonte: Estádio Mineirã, Brasília: Estádio Nacional, Fortaleza: Arena Castelão, Porto Alegre: Estádio Beira-Rio, Recife: Arena de Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro: Estádio do Maracanã, Salvador: Arena Fonte Nova, and São Paulo: Arena Itaquera.

Four cities that were part of Brazil's initial bid – Belém, Cuiabá, Manaus, and Natal – were not selected as host venues.

CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues expressed his confidence in the selected cities.

He said, "The host cities chosen by FIFA already have modern stadiums and training centers to welcome players and fans from all over the world. In addition, they offer an excellent hotel network and efficient urban infrastructure, with ready-made mobility systems, security and public services to provide what an event of this magnitude requires."

While the host cities have been confirmed, FIFA has yet to announce which city and stadium will have the honor of hosting the highly anticipated final match.

However, the legendary Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, which famously hosted the men's World Cup finals in 1950 and 2014, remains a strong contender.

The FIFA Women's World Cup 2027, featuring 32 teams from across the globe, is scheduled to take place between June 24 and July 25, 2027, across these eight Brazilian cities.

This will be the first time the tournament is held in South America, marking a significant milestone for the global growth and development of women's football.
