This weekend's update on the brawl between Real Madrid star Fede Valverde and Alex Baena of Villarreal added to the ongoing issue surrounding La Liga.

After Valverde's partner experienced a miscarriage scare in 2022, Baena is said to have made comments about the Uruguayan's pregnant kid. This allegedly led to Valverde punching Baena outside the Stadium Santiago Bernabeu.

Thankfully, the initial occurrence resulted in Valverde and his girlfriend being able to check that their child was fine.

How the incident happened

Although there was initial hope that the problem would be resolved when it was still in its early stage, both Real Madrid and Villarreal have expressed their worry about the problem.

It was reported earlier by Diario AS that both clubs have decided not to report the case to the Spanish Football Federation and take any action regarding the incident with the midfielder expected to avoid a potential 12-game suspension for hitting Alex Baena following the incident.

In a cup game earlier this year, Baena allegedly said to Valverde, "Cry now that your son is not going to be born." According to reports, the remark was made right as Valverde's wife was at risk of losing their second child.

Baena posted on social media saying he was happy with the team's impressive victory in Santiago Bernabeu and also said he suffered an assault after the match and was surprised by what was being said about him and debunked the rumours of him saying those words to Valverde.

The Spanish national police are about to begin an inquiry, although Villarreal have now reaffirmed their intention to seek legal action on the event. La Liga is willing to initiate an investigation before the end of the season, thus neither club is expected to speak on the matter in the coming 24 hours.
