Nigerian striker Victor Boniface set for a move away from Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer.

Nigerian striker Victor Boniface is expected to make a move in the upcoming transfer window, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has been sensational for Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise this season and was particularly immense in helping them advance into the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.

The Akure-born striker is said to be worth around €10–15 million, but that could go up if his strong performances coincide with a deeper run for USG in the Europa League.

Boniface only recently joined USG last summer, signing from Bodo/Glimt for a reported €2 million fee, and has a contract that runs until 2026, with an option to extend until 2027.

However, his impressive form this season, in which he has scored 10 goals in Europe this season, five in Champions League qualifying and five in the current Europa League campaign, may ensure that his time at USG is brief, with a move to greener pastures on the cards.

What you should know about Boniface

The striker was impressive as well for Bodo/Glimt, but knowledge about him might be a little niche.

So Pulse Sports has compiled a list of ten interesting facts about Victor Boniface, which you can read in full here.

Boniface was invited to the Nigeria U-20 squad to play the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Niger but had to withdraw from the squad due to injury. The Flying Eagles went on to finish fourth after losing the third-place game to South Africa.

The Ondo-born striker revealed in an interview with Nigerian journalist Ojora Babatunde that he nearly quit football due to depression. “I lost interest in football, I forgot about my diets, I began to eat everything, I started living a normal life, I just wanted to be happy, I started partying and drinking. I don’t drink normally, but I started it because I was depressed," Boniface said.

Boniface is currently represented by Aneke/Players Management Group, the same agency that handles Super Eagles stars Odion Ighalo and Chidera Ejuke.
