After taking down the defending champions Dannaz in the last four, Ikorodu City took a step closer to glory in the Lagos FA Cup thanks to their excellent goalkeeper.

NNL side Ikorodu City are through to the final of the Lagos FA Cup following a hard-fought penalty shootout win over Box 2 Box football club.

Ogbonna was the hero for the Oga Boys after he produced an outstanding performance in the shootout to lead the Oga Boys to the final following a 4-3 win on Thursday evening.

Ikorodu had their goalkeeper Victor Ogbonna to thank after he saved two penalty kicks in their semifinal tie against Box 2 Box was following a goalless affair in regulation time at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

The game between the two at the Johnson Arena was a keenly contested encounter between two teams who were evenly matched.

In what was an interesting tactical battle between the two familiar foes, the Oga Boys were the most dominant team on the ball while Box 2 Box were content with soaking up pressure and playing on the counter.

Despite their expected dominance, Ikorodu City struggled to create any meaningful chances throughout the game with Box 2 Box having the best chances, especially in the second half.
