Nigeria, along with South Africa and Uganda, has been chosen for the parade ahead of the ICC World Cup, which will be held in India from October 5 to November 19.
The Nigeria Cricket Federation, joined by the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh, kicked off the two-day ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour of Nigeria on Tuesday with a reception at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Excitement as Nigerian Cricket gets international recognition
Nigeria won the prize for the greatest initiative in the sport for 2023 by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The trophy, which arrived from Uganda on Tuesday, was given a unique cultural welcome at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport before it was received by the minister.
The President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, Uyi Akpata, Uyi Akpata, President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, attributed the trophy's return to Nigeria's rising status in the game.
The trophy tour, according to Akpata, will allow stakeholders to interact more closely with the ICC's top management.
He said, “Of course, we will also be engaging the ICC officials during the process, but we plan to give a unique Nigerian welcome to the trophy and the team of ICC officials that would be coming along.

The trophy tour will arrive in Lagos on Wednesday (today) and will be welcomed by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, followed by a reception at the Tafawa Balewa Cricket Oval by the Lagos cricket community.
