In twelve rounds of boxing on Saturday, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury, but he wasn't out of it unharmed.

Following the bout, the first unchallenged heavyweight champion of the four-belt era was sent to the hospital for an examination of a broken jaw.

During his planned post-fight media scrum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Usyk was conspicuously absent.

Usyk broke his jaw during the bout, and promoter Frank Warren told the media that he was taken to the hospital right away.

Before Fury grabbed control of the middle frames with pinpoint accuracy punches that injured Usyk, the first few rounds were competitive.

In Round 7, the Ukrainian fighter reversed the course of events. In Round 9, he gained the upper hand by knocking out the unbeaten champion almost completely.

In the end, Usyk prevailed in an exciting split decision, scoring 115–112, 113–114, and 114–113.

Usyk is pleased that Fury will fulfill his contractual obligation to reschedule.

Usyk vs. Fury 2 has no set date, however, October 2024 had previously been suggested by Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia's general entertainment administration.
