The judges scorecard did not reflect the fight as Devin Haney recorded a unanimous decision victory against Vasyl Lomachenko to retain undisputed lightweight titles.

The undisputed lightweight title was on the line early on May 21 when defending champion Devin Haney faced up against former world champion Vasyl Lomachenko in the MGM Grand's 12-round pay-per-view main event.

While the older Lomachenko wanted to reaffirm his status as a once-in-a-lifetime talent, the younger Haney sought to establish himself as one of this generation's top fighters.

Loma had a solid opening, but it was tight because both fighters launched and connected on several punches.

The second round was almost as intense and fast-paced as the first, with Haney landing well early and Loma landing well afterward.

The third round was similar to the first two, with Loma enjoying the better moments—not that Haney didn't have plenty of his own.

Even though Haney had the greater shots in the round, they were tied at the conclusion of the fourth.

Both combatants exchanged blows throughout the tough seventh round. However, Loma's may have been a little better.

The eighth round of this exciting fight saw the score remain tight.

Loma made head contact while Haney, the reigning champion, made tremendous body contact.

By the ninth round, the two combatants' fitness was amazing. They wouldn't slow down, but Haney won the round.

In the tenth, Loma was able to hurt his opponent. Loma for the first time in the bout dominated despite Haney's holding on in the clinch.

The eleventh round was simple to sum up; Haney was just destroyed by the seasoned Loma.

However, Haney was able to rally and manage to stay on his feet during a tremendous battle in the twelfth.

The judges ruled the fight a unanimous decision win for Haney against Lomachencko scoring it 116-112, 115-113, 115-113.

Haney will now choose to either fight Shakur Stevenson next or take on Gervonta Tank Davis who recently recorded a massive win against Ryan Garcia.
