Tokyo 2025: Noah Lyles anchors Team USA to 4x100m GOLD, clocking fifth fastest time in world history
Adding another gold medal to his rising collection, Noah Lyles brought track activities at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships to a perfect end by anchoring Team USA to the 4x100m title, clocking the fifth fastest time in world history.
The newly crowned world 200m champion left no stone unturned in his anchor leg duties, producing an electrifying performance that lit up the stadium as he crossed the finish line in a world-leading 37.29s for the win.
He finished off a brilliant relay run from his teammates, led by Christian Coleman, before handing it off to Kenny Bednarek, who was monstrous in the second leg, and then Courtney Lindsey maintained the lead perfectly before handing the baton to Lyles.

With their winning time, it propelled them to fifth on the all-time world list and became the second-fastest in US history, just .19s off the American 4x100m relay record set at the Doha 2019 World Championships by half of the 2025 crew: Coleman, Justin Gatlin, Mike Rodgers, and Lyles.
Olympic champions Canada, comprising Brandon Rodney, Jerome Blake, Aaron Brown, and Andre De Grasse, settled for the silver medal in a Season's Best of 37.55s, while Netherlands were the surprise bronze medallists in a National Record of 37.81s.
Lyles' relay gold was his third medal in Tokyo, following his bronze in the 100m and successfully defending his 200m title for the fourth consecutive time, which brings his total career world titles to eight as he continues to strengthen his legacy in the sport.
