World's fastest man Noah Lyles has revealed the motivation behind his ambitious quadruple goal at Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The newly crowned men’s World Athlete of the Year for track events, dominated the sprints at the world championships in Budapest by winning three gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m.

By doing this, Lyles became the third American man in history to complete a sprint triple and join the ranks of Tyson Gay and Maurice Greene.

Triple world champion Noah Lyles bared it all, talking about his displeasure on the World Athletics Athlete of the Year Awards.
His victories came with a 9.83s to win the 100m, followed by a 19.52s for gold in the 200m - his third straight in the event, and anchored the US 4x100m team to gold in a world-leading 37.38s for triple the glory.
In addition, he maintained his position as world 200m leader for the sixth consecutive year and was undefeated in six 200m finals. Further proving his versatility, he closed the season as the joint world leader in the 100m.

Having accomplished these rare feats this season, the 26-year-old has now made a bold revelation of going for the quadruple at the Paris 2024 Olympics, meaning he will be gunning for four gold medals in different events.

“I was talking to a close friend and he's like: 'I already know you're going to win three golds at the Olympics. I want you to win four. I remember when you were in high school, I watched you at Penn Relays go from second to last to first in the 4x400m, chasing down all those Jamaicans - there's your fourth medal,’” recounted Lyles in an exclusive interview with World Athletics.
“I've never had somebody tell me something that has thrown my out-of-the-box thinking to inside-the-box, but that was like: okay, I'm not going to say no to that. Because after what I did at Budapest and seeing what my body could handle, if I train for it, okay, let's take a shot. If they allow me, if they need me and they are willing - let's go, let's take it,” he said.
