World's fastest man Noah Lyles picked and ranked his favourite medals from the World Championships in Budapest.

Men's track athlete of the year Noah Lyles picked his favourite title won from the triple gold medals at the World Championships in Budapest.

The American speedster dominated the men's sprints in Budapest by winning three gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m.

These victories came with a 9.83s to win the 100m, followed by a 19.52s in the 200m - his third straight in the event, and anchored the US 4x100m team to gold in a world-leading 37.38s for triple the glory.

In addition, Lyles maintained his position as world 200m leader for the sixth consecutive year and was undefeated in six 200m finals. Further proving his versatility, he closed the season as the joint world leader in the 100m.

Unsurprisingly, his feat made him one of the top performers in Budapest and cemented his name as one of the greatest sprinters in history.

The 26-year-old has now picked his favourite gold medal won and ranked them according to how much they meant to him.

“This is hard, because each one of them was very important to me,” said Lyles in an exclusive interview with World Athletics.

“The 100m was important because I’ve always known that I’m the fastest man on the planet, but nobody would believe me unless I actually had the 100m title. I’d definitely say that has changed the way that people have viewed me a little bit, especially outside of the sport. Now it’s no longer ‘American record-holder Noah Lyles’, it’s ‘fastest man in the world Noah Lyles’, and that has changed their viewpoint," he added.

“I think for this year, I’m going to rank that as first, and I’ll rank the 200m as second, because it was my third time winning the 200m. Then the 4x100m I’ll put third. Just because the relay, it’s fun. The icing on top was the 4x100m.”

Having had a successful 2023 season, the sub-20s king in the 200m event will be gunning to have a historic outing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where he'll be targeting to win not just his first Olympic gold medal but four in total across different events.
